I really like this keyboard – I decided to give this keyboard a try as it came with specific Mac layout and was wireless… plus I really wanted to try the 1800 layout. I have a Filco TKL and a Ducky Premier full size mechanical keyboard already with a few different sets of PBT keycaps. Both keyboards are well used and loved. The Keychron does not seem to be built quite to the same standard, but I cannot complain as it works and feels good. The only key that feels mushy is the numpad enter, but after playing with the stabs it’s tolerable now. Overall this is a great value for someone that wants to get a mechanical board without the big expense and as a bonus it’s hot swappable.

  2. D. A (verified owner)

Great for those new to mechanical keyboards. – This is my second Keychron keyboard. I’m very happy with the quality, feel, and sound. I use it daily for work. There are many mods and upgrades available to further tune this keyboard to your liking.

  3. Z. N (verified owner)

Good for a daily driver – I’ve been daily driving the non-RGB version with Gateron Reds and liking it a lot.

  4. O. D (verified owner)

Bought this to see what all the fuss is about for mechanical keyboards – I am enjoying the mechanical keyboard experience for my MacBook Pro. The only complaint I have is that it is so LOUD when you type. Smaller than a full sized keyboard takes some getting used to. But I am sticking with it for now.

  5. K. N (verified owner)

Great compact keyboard, if you’re not a touch typist. – I purchased the K4G2, the one with white LEDs and removable Gateron blue switches, a little over a month ago. I love the keyboard. It’s feel is not quite Cherry quality, but still excellent, and much better than the mushy feel of the membrane keyboards I abhor, or the scissor switch keys like on the Logitech K800 I’ve used for a few years now, which are just tolerable to me. The two things that drive me crazy are the lack of insert key and the small, single key width zero on the number pad. I’m constantly hitting the right arrow key instead of the zero. I think they should’ve added one more row of keys between the keyboard and number pad, which would’ve allowed for four more keys and a double width zero. I’d also like to have the dedicated print screen key back, but a simple key binding to CTL-PGUP is sufficient, just a minor annoyance when I have to use it. I also can’t seem to get used to the placement of the del, home, end, pgup and pgdn keys. Although I love the ascetics of the compact keyboard sitting more centered in my workspace, that’s just not enough to justify the missing/misplaced/miss-sized keys. I’d much rather have function over form, and trying to retrain muscle memory of several decades may more trouble than it’s worth just for ascetic purposes.

  6. B. D (verified owner)

Clickity Clack’s as expected! – I was searching around for a mechanical keyboard in hopes of something I could repair and clean if I needed to as well as a more tactile feel when typing. I also enjoy the sound and depth the keystrokes have. Compared to my old keyboard, a Razer Deathstalker, the Keychron K4 is a COMPLETE change. Even the layout took a few days to get used to again, since it’s a 96%. The blue cherry key’s sound and feel exquisite to me, but I’ve never had a mechanical keyboard before, so my virgin fingers are still in their honeymoon phase.
