Create but try not to scratch it – I purchased this tablet because I needed it for my design class I would have preferred a cintique because it has a screen and you literally can draw on it and can see you creation as you create it all on the same screen but for the amount of money I had in my pocket at the moment being a college student this was my best bet. The area of space on the tablet which you could use to draw was a problem for some in my class who was using the same tablet but I found it not so bad because I have always found it kind of intimidating to have to draw on a 11×17 piece of paper ,even 8.5×11 was pushing it but the small size didn’t bother me it actually made me more comfortable. Especially since I wasn’t familiar with creating actually digital work by hand besides by using mouse. Overall Drawing with the pen is great the only thing I would suggest is finding soft nibs to put in the tablet pen because from much use I have actually abused the tablet and possibly will have to purchase another one sadly. The programs I used this with is Photoshop on my Toshiba Satellite. Side note: make sure this tablet is compatible with your drives because it may lag .

Warning Mac Users: CD requires OS X 10.8 or newer. – I’m a long time user of Wacom tablets. They’re great and I love them. I had to ding this one star for two reasons: 1) I wasn’t warned that this was apparently made for the Chinese market. One of the inserts was completely in Chinese. Thankfully another insert was in several languages. 2) If you’re on a Mac, there was no warning that the included CD for installing the tablet requires Mac OS X 10.8 or newer. I specifically looked for a Bamboo because I needed to replace my old Wacom Graphire3 on a Mac that runs 10.6.8. Per Wacom’s site, this tablet is supposed to work on older operating systems, but the included CD was worthless to me. I was able to download the correct driver from Wacom’s website, but this was irritating.

Very reliable brand – I first used a drawing tablet at a past job some 5 to 7 years ago. I didn’t think anything of it except that I was able to do more minute details. More recently, my sister got a smaller one for cheap at Half-Priced Books. I decided to try using it because I was doing some map editing on OSM and the mouse just wasn’t cutting it. It was so nice to be able to do more minute details without having to deal with the on-screen mouse jumping around because the physical mouse was dirty.

    – love it

Nice Texture, Portability, and Size – I have owned the Wacom CTL 470 and Wacom CTL 490, so I can only give an opinion based on my previous experiences with these “entry-level” small graphics tablets.
